PvP Mounts

PvP mounts may be earned from many different forms of Player-vs-Player gameplay. Some require very little PvP experience, while the Arena mounts can only be earned by being exceptionally good at 3-person or 5-person Arena team competitions.

Miscellaneous Achievements

Battle for Nazjatar

150 Nazjatar Battle Commendations

Marks of Honor - Alliance

These mounts may be purchased with Marks of Honor, which can be earned through a number of different PvP activities.

Marks of Honor - Horde

These mounts may be purchased with Marks of Honor, which can be earned through a number of different PvP activities.

Honor Level

In Legion, these mounts were awarded for reaching certain Prestige ranks in the Honor system. In Battle for Azeroth, Prestige has been switched to an Honor Level system, so these mounts are still available, but the amount of Honor required may be a bit higher. Click on an individual mount for more details.

Halaa

To purchase these Halaa talbuks your faction must be in control of Halaa in Nagrand, Outland. You also require two kinds of tokens - Halaa Battle Tokens and Halaa Research Tokens. Click on one of the mounts for details on the best ways to earn these.

Tol Barad

These mounts may be purchased with Tol Barad Commendations which can be earned by engaging in daily quests (including non-PvP!) and PvP battles in the Tol Barad zone.

Timeless Isle

The Bloody Coins required to purchase this mushan may be obtained by engaging in PvP while transformed into an Ordon Fire-Watcher. Follow the mount link for more details.

Ashran

This pair of mounts may be ridden by characters of either faction, though their sale is faction-restricted. Purchase of the red Breezestrider Stallion requires Exalted reputation with the Horde PvP faction Vol'jin's Spear, and the blue Pale Thorngrazer requires Exalted reputation with the Alliance PvP faction Wrynn's Vanguard. Reputation for these factions is earned by engaging in various activities in the Ashran PvP zone, including completing mini-events and handing in quests. Purchase requires both gold and Marks of Honor.

World PvP Achievements

These mounts are achievement rewards for the Legion PvP world quest meta-achievement, Free For All, More For Me, which involves completing each of the four different Broken Isles PvP world quests 20 times each. The Steed is restricted to Alliance and the Wolf to Horde, but you need only complete the achievement on one faction, as both mounts will be added to your collection.

Talon's Vengeance

To purchase this mount you must reach Exalted with Aviana's faction, Talon's Vengeance. This is achieved by engaging in a special form of world PvP that awards the reputation item, Marks of Prey. However, obtaining the item that begins this grind is more complicated, so follow the mount link for more information.

Vicious Mounts - Rated PvP

In Battle for Azeroth, the method for obtaining these Vicious mounts has changed. All except the most current mounts must be purchased with a Vicious Saddle, but the original method of obtaining these has been removed and the new method requires that you first earn the current season's mount. To achieve this: (i) You must first reach the PvP rank of Combatant during the Season. You can obtain this ranking by reaching a rating of 1400 through competing in 2v2, 3v3, or 10v10 arenas and battlegrounds. (ii) Once you've reached Combatant ranking you must win further matches in the same season, until your progress bar reaches 100% (2400 points). You'll then receive the mount. (iii) For each subsequent time you fill your progress bar (during the same season) you'll receive a Vicious Saddle, which you may use to purchase older Vicious mounts.

Notes: It appears the 1400 rating is specific to the match type you earned it in. For example, if you only earned the rating in 10v10 then you cannot progress towards the mount in 2v2 (until you also earn a 1400 rating in the latter). The number of matches required to fill your progress bar depends on the type of match. According to comments on Wowhead, by Rainewater, you require 40 wins in 10v10 (60 points / win), 80 wins in 3v3 (30 points / win), or 240 wins in 2v2 (10 points / win).

Arena

Arena mounts are rewarded to top-ranking Arena teams at the end of each PvP season. Since each mount is given out for only one season, Arena mounts are effectively pre-retired -- by the time they are in the game, you can't get one. You can find more retired mounts on the Retired Mounts page.
