Well, I can finally get at the WoW forums again! And that means I was able to track down Blizzard poster Kisirani’s statements about the changes to Brewfest mounts that we discussed yesterday.
The decision was made to give Horde the Kodo and Alliance the Ram this year. I apologize if there were expectations that the Alliance would get a Horde mount; we were in discussions about this for a long time. I hope that you’ll enjoy the holiday regardless.
I understand, considering expectations, that you’re upset, and this isn’t a decision that was reached lightly. I’ll be monitoring feedback all through the testing phase, but please do keep in mind that civil and constructive statements serve best.
I am glad that they will be “monitoring feedback” and I personally intend to provide copious “civil and constructive statements” during the testing phase in hopes of helping them to change their minds.
Its jacked that the horde have the ram already and we wont get a chance at their brewfest mount
Personally I think they should get kodo for horde and ally get both and the year after- Ally get ram only

Personally it just seems unfair to me that Horde get a ‘new’ mount, and Alliance don’t. It makes Brewfest kinda pointless. I’d just be happy with a new Alliance mount…like an Epic Pink Elekk ;p Though I was looking forward to a Horde mount ;p
I believe the only reason they could have for changing their minds so abruptly (we all thought~ the Alliance were getting a Kodo this year) is that they FINALLY noticed just how unbalanced the mounts are right now. Giving us the new Kodo skin but not the Alliance will ALMOST (not satisfactorily, but it will be something at least) make up for the fact that the Alliance can already~ get more of our mounts than we can get of theirs, in addition to their own special Wintersaber which we have no equivalent of! So the Kodo would…sort of be out Wintersaber…except the Alliance has Brewfest Rams too, so I guess it doesn’t even count towards that. It’s just weird.
Ritsuka: I see what you are saying, but that only holds true for Horde who have alrady gotten their ram, since new Horde characters won’t be able to get one.
Well, Blizzard removed Brewfest testing from the PTR, so perhaps they are changing it. We’ll see!
The way that I see that mounts should work, is that both sides should have some kind of access to all mounts, but it should be more difficult for the opposite faction to get them, such a how the raptor is only available to alliance through ZG, and same for the cat to the horde.
yes, I suppose that it is currently a bit unbalanced, but truthfully, I believe that it should be something that Blizz should fix, there really isn’t any problem that I see by doing this if they make it a challenge to get a mount that ur side can’t get normally.
and that is my argument about why the Brewfest Kodo should be available to both sides, along with the fact that so many horde alrdy got the ram.

Personaly Brewfest was my lame excuse for getting out of the task of getting Exalted with another city for, say, a wolf. Incidentely, I only ever do this on Dwarves and Taurens. On my druid I got a ram, to get rid of my ugly Kodo. On my dwarf, I didn’t even go to the brwefest. What good would it be? All I would get would be a pimped ram. (I want a Horse)
On other Races, I am fine with their racial mount. Raptors? Cool! Undead Horse? Pretty! Kodo? Ew. Ram? Ew. So when my Tauren will only be able to get a Kodo, it does no good.

I seriously agree that Alliance should have the choice of a Horde mount seeing as the Horde already have the Ram available to them. I would really like my shaman to have a raptor I think that would be sweet; however, the likelyness of that are slim to none so I would atleast like a Kodo. It just seems unfair that the Horde can have an Alliance mount but it doesn’t work vice-versa. It sometimes seems Blizzard prefers the Horde over Alliance even though Alliance are the GOOD GUYS!!! lol. Well hope the holiday gets here quick atleast we get free beer!
I’m Horde and got the Brewfest Ram last year. I believe Alliance should be able to get the Kodo mount as it doesn’t seem right. Frankly mount balance concerning drops shouldn’t even be part of the argument for or against Brewfest mounts - the majority are so rare most people won’t ever see them anyway.
The solution I see, if they want to make the Brewfest mounts special, is to simply offer the Kodo to Horde and Ram to Alliance at the regular 600 tickets but offer the opposite mount for a greater number of tickets. That way if someone really wants the opposite mount they’ll have to put in a lot more work for it, but they’ll still have the option open to them.

I’m so late leaving a comment here, but just my $.02…
I want a ram on my undead so badly. Last year, I just didn’t have enough time to farm it with too much real life stuff going on. On the last day, with no way to get more tickets, I had 595. I needed 5 more for my ram. I have been taking up three bag spaces in my bank for a year…saving those tickets until this year when I could FINALLY get my ram!
And then I heard that we were only getting the option of kodos, which I hate…I didn’t have an epic land mount on my druid until 62 when I finally had enough PvP marks to get a raptor. I used travel form most of the time, even when I had the level 40 kodo. I hate kodos.
It’s my firm belief that Alliance should get kodos, Horde should get rams. I am one of those people who squawks about how the Alliance are more favored in cooking recipes, mounts and vanity pets, but I thought the Alliance should have gotten a mount of ours LAST year. It’s just not fair that they’re taking that away from us. :(
Here’s hoping they change it! I didn’t delete my brewfest tickets in the hopes that they do. And at least I’ll be able to buy some of the other stuff [that I didn't get to buy last year because of saving for my ram].
