PTR 2.4.2: Potential New Mounts
Also hidden in the game files of Patch 2.4.2 (but not mentioned in the patch notes): two new mounts!
Well, maybe. Keep in mind that just because a spell shows up in the game files doesn’t mean that it’s going to be in the game. And even if it is, it might not be something you can get your hands on!
But so long as you are keeping that in mind, let’s go ahead and get excited anyway. *grin*
Both MMO Champion and World of Raids are reporting spells and models for the following in Patch 2.4.2:
- Swift Zebra: Summons and dismisses a rideable Swift Zebra. This is a very fast mount. (Ed. - Shouldn’t that be Zhevra?)
- Headless Horseman’s Mount: Summons and dismisses a rideable Headless Horseman’s Mount.
The Headless Horseman’s Mount has two other associated spells: ‘Headless Horseman’s Mount, Ground’ and ‘Use Headless Horseman’s Reins’. All together this would seem to me to indicate some sort of holiday event, but it’s a bit early for Halloween. I guess we’ll see!
I can’t seem to get my Model Viewer to show me these, so while I keep bashing on it you should head on over to World of Raids and check out their model screenshots of the Swift Zebra and the Headless Horseman’s Mount.

Well the Horseman was the halloween even last year, I guess they are just updating him. As for the Zhevra mount, wherre it would drop and from whome is utterly beyond me.

I am just hoping the Swift Zhevra mount is a Horde only mount, kinda like the Frostsaber dude. I really like the Zhevra mount myself, though I have always had an unhealthy love of The Barrens for a draenei hunter ;p

I hope the zhevra is either alliance only or both because I love the idea
I will be extremely sad if this is not true because I want one badly
….
As for how to get it, it is my best guess it will be rep with ratchet

For two years of playing WoW I have complained to all my friends about how much I want to ride a Zhevra. That would be so awesome if either alliance or horde could get it, if it were some kind of rep grind — something attainable. The horde is supposed to have a Ravasaur in Un’Goro that is the same as the frostsaber from Winterspring. blizz was just decided not to add it, but I have heard rumors of them finally putting the quest chain to get that raptor. I hope the Zhevra is something like Ratchet rep.

Oh, neat! I missed those somehow, Suzi, so thanks very much for posting the link.
Those colors match the non-mount zhevra colors, which makes sense, but I’m still very glad that they took the time to make a mount for each of them. Perhaps we’ll get to pick! (… if and when this mount ever becomes available.) My favorite is probably the ‘unicorn’ on the right end in that picture, but I also really like the bluish one that’s second from the left.

I really hope that the Zhevra will be a Horde only mount. it isn’t fair that the alliance already have a faction only mount (Frost Saber) why does the horde get no love? ;__;!

I truly hope it’ll be a Horde mount only. I mean, come on, the Alliance get a Frostsabor that’s for them only. These have to be Horde only! I want to get one for my Blood Elf Hunter for sure!

Unlikely this will be a Horde- only mount, Blizzard already implemented two Alliance mounts Horde had easy acces to (Brewfest Ram - which is now finally answered by a Brewfest Kodo, and the Cenarion War Hippogryph), while the Alliance had no choice but to keep on farming Zul’Gurub or Strathholme to get acces to Horde mounts.
And about the Ravasaur trainer in Un’goro, I think it makes sense Blizzard completing it anytime soon.

This is now avalible all you ahve to do is recruit one person and have them pay for 2 months of service.

The Cenarion War Hippogryph is -not- an Alliance mount (it’s a druid mount, and we have druids too), and therefore does -not- count as the Horde getting another Ally mount. Grrr. And we could only get rams for 2 weeks. That’s it. Quite possibly never again.
That said, it’s still nice that both sides can get this nifty Zhevra.

Um The Cenarion War Hippogryph is not a druid only mount. Its available to anyone who has the right amount of gold (something like 1500g) and is exalted with the Cenarion Expedition. And to the person saying the Horde get no love having a special mount, Blizzard are not going to be giving Alliance the Brewfest Kodo so you got the Ram last year and we have the Wintersaber - maybe not quite as equal but enough :)

s/he didnt say it was druid-only mount, s/he said its a druid-style type thing. The cenarions are druids. duh.
